In 3/4 time signature, I want a note to be held for 4 and 1/2 beats beginning on the second beat of the measure. How should this be scored?

Half note on beat 2 tied to half note on beat 1 of the next measure tied to eight note on beat 3?
Or for UK readers: minim on beat 2 tied to minim on beat 1 of the next bar ted to a quaver on beat 3.
