Musescore Sound Delay

Hello all. I've finally decided to speak up about this issue. I have MASSIVE playback issues. I've never had these issues on musescore 3. An example for how delayed it is: if i press play to play a piece, the sound wont start until the blue bar is about 3.5 measures in. this time increases. the longest its been is 6 measures. This delay increases rapidly, and once it reaches its peak, it knocks out sound for my entire computer. This is very irritating. I am still a new composer and trying to find the right cords and notes is a nightmare with this delay.
