Hide an Instrument within Instrument tab - causes a shutdown

Hi - I use the 'Hide' or 'shut the eye' feature inside the Instrument tab quite a bit. I orchestrate for multiple instruments and hiding and un-hiding certain parts helps my orchestration process.

But, after installing the update to 4.4.1.242490810 this morning (at the suggestion of the app itself), it causes the 'wheel of death' and requires my Mac to use a Force Quit every time to actually close Musescore. From a natural and useful tool I used all the time, to an immediate Freeze of the app requiring a Force Quit.
Please fix!!
I have successfully recreated this bug with older scores, newer scores, and I'm ready to declare it's a real bug that I don't think is me. I need this feature working like it used to. Can you help?
