Hyphens come out as underscores

I'm having an issue where every time I put a hyphen (-), it's entering into MuseScore 4 as an underscore (__). I had just updated to 4.4.1 when I first encountered the problem so I tried to downgrade to 4.4.0, but I'm still having the issue. Any earlier version, and I can't open my score. I've tried to clear and reset the Lyrics: enter hyphen shortcut, and even tried a different shortcut key to create a hyphen, but it still comes out as an underscore.
