Playback not working after sleep

• Sep 11, 2024 - 09:47

When I'm work in MuseScore 4, the playback is just fine. But if I put the computer to sleep and come back to it later, the playback usually doesn't work. It is inconsistent—sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't—but the problem persists with 4.4.1. No audio settings are changing as far as I can tell. Is anybody else experiencing this, and/or is there a trick to making it work beyond quitting and reopening MuseScore?

I'm using MuseScore 4.4.1 on a MacBook Air running Sonoma 14.6.1.

I have no issue on a Linux PC so it might be specific to your computer or operating system. Best to save your work (preferably with unique filenames) and close any programs, really.

I have the same issue, currently using 4.4.2 on a MacBook Pro M1 running Sequoia 15.0.1 - but I've had this issue for ages actually, across many versions of MuseScore and MacOS. Only fix I've found is to close the app and re-open. Would love if it worked as intended, though!

This is not unusual for notation software. Also changing audio devices while the program is running can cause problems.
