Why do I have to press OK in the dialog box rather than hit Return when adding bars?

It's perhaps a trivial matter, but hitting the return key is often used to confirm an action. When adjusting Bar Properties I can press Return to confirm. However that isn't an option when adding extra bars to a piece.... I have to press the OK button in the dialog.
