Template plays what was in the score used for template

• Nov 4, 2024 - 21:37

I usually create my templates from existing scores, but haven't done so in years now. I am however quite sure that I simply took a piece with notes present in it, saved it in my templates folder, and wouldn't have any issues using that for new projects.

However, recently I made a new template and if used for a brand new empty project and pressing play, Musescore plays the notes that were present in the score used when I saved it as a template. So even if the score looks empty and I press play, there will be notes played.

I'm attatching the file in question - shouldn't I be able to save that in my templates folder and create new projects from it without removing the notes first? Am I missing something? Has this always been the case (I'm quite sure it hasn't)?

Replication process:
- Make a project with notes in it
- Save the project in the templates folder
- Make a new project using that template
- Press play
- Listen to music being played from the empty score

(also - not sure where to give this feedback, but the link on how to report bugs is for MS2 and I cannot find any way to easily navigate to the GitHub page where bugs are reported nowadays - see attatched image)
