Search function for forum?

• Nov 9, 2024 - 16:33

I don’t see a search box for the contents of the forum.

The little magnifying glass (on the page header — (after “Download - Support - Contribute - Activity”) doesn’t seem to search the forum, and it might actually not search anything. (I get the link to searching google).

The point of the forum is to learn from others. I can’t believe it’s not possible to search the forum.

Thanks

I want to set up a a template for a jazz leadsheet, where it would create parts for concert pitch, Bb and Eb transpositions automatically. I tried making linked staves under one instrument, but that doesn’t lead to printing out separate leadsheets. It seems to work best using three different instruments, but then I have to copy/paste by hand.

Linked staves definitely do not create "separate leadsheets".

What you could do is to set the leadsheet in concert pitch, print it. Then set it to Bb and print it. Then set it to Eb and print it.

If you actually want three separate files (this strikes me as a bad idea, but it's your score), just save with different names after each print.

Thanks. I think you are right that this is the best way.. but of course the workflow = create a leadsheet, print all 3 versions, then realize there’s an error and redo it x 3, and then find another error and redo it x 3 again.

I don’t want 3 separate musescore files but i need to export 3 PDFs. I was hoping to do this in one go, and to have edits automatically update all 3..

Also … when you say “set it to Bb” (etc) what do you mean exactly? I’ve been using the TRANSPOSE function, which a little more tedious than I’d prefer. Is there another way to “set” the transposition?

i appreciate your help.

someone (Underquark) in the Plugins forum found a workaround:

"You can use Google (other search engines are available)
Set up a tab/button/shortcut for:

site:https://musescore.org/en/forum/443

Clicking on this alone will return an error but if you follow it with a space and then your search word (or "phrase in quotations") then Google will search in the Plugins section."

The link to search for this sub-forum would be site:https://musescore.org/en/forum/11

https://musescore.org/en/node/371446
