Program crashing, cannot edit scores

• Nov 10, 2024 - 19:58

have been using Musescore for quite a few years, and I normally use VDL kontact plug-ins for nice Drumline sounds. After the most recent releases however, anytime I go into one of my scores and I click on even a single note, the entire program crashes. Furthermore when I go to load it back and click on another note, the EXACT same problem. Does anyone have the same problem, and or know how to fix this?
Note, The pictures below are in order to show the sequence of events. After clicking on the note, the program completely closes.

  • If the problem occurs on a single score (?), attach it so we can understand its origin.

  • If the problem is systematic on any score (?), then you should give it a try: menu "Help" / Revert to Factory Settings.
In the latter case, you'll want to remember to save your custom palettes, as well as your custom shortcuts, if you have any, of course, before starting the operation.

So the problem still persists. Anytime I run help/factory revert it works temporarily. However, the very next time I open the app after closing the program it reverts to the same problem. It seems to be a temporary fix, but does not solve the root issue. I have run updates and it hasn’t fixed this either

I have the same issue.
Musescore and Kontact Full (7.10.6) worked perfectly (crash free) until the last update.
Now what I've noticed is a guarantee crash if I hit play before all the samples have loaded in Kontact. It also crashes if I wait for the samples to load and then hit play. However, if I let the samples load then select a single bar or single instruments it will play. Then, on simple pieces, I can select the whole score and it will play fine. One more complicated ones it will play fine for a while and I can work, but it will arbitrarily crash at some point.
