Small pieces in every page
Good morning. The picture attached is from an old piano method. I would need to know exactly to do that: a series of very short pieces for a new work for piano beginners. I could not find the instructions in the documentation. How do I go about this? Thank you in advance for any help!
Manuel

Use section breaks and horizontal frames

Thank you, Jojo. Using sections was a step forward, as you can see in the image. But how do I get the little pieces horizontally centered in the page? And how do I put a number before each beginning, like in the first image (taken from Beyer’s classical work)?

I seem to be making some progress. For some reason, if I try to append a horizontal frame at the end of the second „piece“ it appears after the third. I still don’t find how to write a number before each one of them.

Add text to the frame

I can insert a rehearsal mark and move it to the desired place left from the staves (not very precisely) but I cannot append a horizontal frame after number 2. I select the last measure and the frame appears after number 3.

Then I do not understand you. I need to center number 2. I thought I had to put horizontal frames at both sides. Please explain what you mean. What is to be done to achieve the desired result?

I have. That is not what I am trying to achieve. In the enclosed file, number 3 appears correctly. Numbers 1 and 2 should be also centered but not enlarged.

Or use this, just be consistent with the offsets (i.e.: don't drag, but use the properties to change the offsets, here to 10 / 4.5

If you want horizontal frames at the end of a section (in order to size them neatly), apply the section beaks to those rather than to the last measure of a section

I’m not getting through here. Let us start again. Here is short piece number one as it should appear. It should be followed by short piece number two, exactly the same, beneath short piece number one.

So you'd need a frame before and after each piece, so you can center it nicely

That would be right. But I can’t do it.

Well yes! It does sound rather complicated, but I will try. For now, I just added a final barline to number one and am still looking for how to have the numbers without a frame. Thanks for now, HildeK.

The indentation of the different scores can be done by Style -> Score -> Enable indentation on first system.

It looks good indeed. How did you proceed to have the numbering well placed?
