Old voice change keyboard shortcut

• Nov 30, 2024 - 20:47

I wonder if this is the right forum to ask if an old keyboard shortcut could be brought back (or maybe brought back to full functionality)? The keyboard shortcut is documented here:

https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/voices

Where it says:

Move notes to another Voice (change notes' Voice but not swap)
You can also move notes from one Voice to another (without note-swapping):

Ensure you are not in note input mode.
Select one or more noteheads (in any Voice).
Click on the destination Voice in the Note Input toolbar or use the shortcut Ctrl+Alt+1–4 (Mac: Cmd+Alt+1-4).

In MuseScore 3 it used to work with all note durations. Now it still works, but tuplets (for example: triplets) are left behind (not moved). I wonder if it can be made consistently functional once again? I wonder if it was left out of the design specification for MuseScore 4.
Thank you.

Dave

I'm no expert. But aren't you swapping in MU3, also? If you have notes in voice 1 and you want to move them to voice 2, you use selection and the shortcut. You swap the the heretofore invisible voice 2 rests for voice 1 notes.
But now triplets are a problem in MU4 in voice 2, you can't create a triplet from a rest as in voice 1. You do it from a note. which is fine. But how to get our voice 1 triplet into voice two? The only way I can see would be to select the range of notes and go to Tools/Voices and do an exchange. The result is the same, except that the triplet is moved, also.
Sorry, that doesn't fix the shortcut.
