After doing this I could not open it the next day please help.

I was able to open in MuseScore 3 and fixed what seemed to be a problem in measure 20 with a note in voice 2 rather than in voice 1.
I then opened the (fixed) file and saved in MuseScore 4.

Just to add: the underlying problem is the local time signature (12/8 here), which, let's face it, is quite often the case. Switching here a note to voice 2 causes corruption. This can be easily reproduced, see: 1test.mscz
Worth reporting on Github (unless it's a known case, it's possible, to be check)
