Note input tweak
I would like to see a mechanism whereby when entering a note you can simultaneously 'place' the new note when you know the default octave will be wrong. This is instead of CTRL + up-or-down arrow.
Ideally I think there would be 2 controls, one saying 'go high' & the other saying 'go low', in case you are entering the same note again, in which case MS will (obviously and sensibly) put it in the same octave.
I know SHIFT is taken for building chords, but maybe some of the other keys are available.
it would save a lot of time...

For your information, a feature request on this section of the forum is purely informal. Let's just say that it can be used to measure its audience and relevance to other users, in case of possible support and encouragement. For any official feature request, this takes place on Github.

If I may suggest a workaround:
Go to View | Piano keyboard, and click to turn it on (or just enter the shortcut, which is "P")
On the onscreen piano keyboard, click on the desired key in the desired octave, to enter the desired note.

Yes, I'll try it. But my feeling is that using the mouse and the piano keyboard will be slower than direct keyboard input
