Problem with new version 4.5.0... (Mac)

• Mar 17, 2025 - 13:04

I did this update this morning from an older version of Musescore 4 and have already encountered two problems:

1/ copying individual parts from one file to paste into another file no longer works
2/ files now won't open at all (they did initially)!

Is there anyway of converting back to the previous version?

Thanks for any insights on this

Uninstall completely. Search your hard drive for files/folders named "MuseScore" and delete them. Likewise, search your registry for "MuseScore" and delete entries containing it. Install the version you want.

If, by "MuseScore files", you mean the application files, yes, that's the whole point of an uninstallation.

If you mean your score files, no, this will not affect them in the slightest. Make sure you know where they are saved on your HDD, since the new installation will, of course, NOT know.

This sounds pretty serious. In the spirit of troubleshooting I'd like to see if those problems occur on my Mac.

Please post a score where this problem occurs and supply exact steps to replicate the issue.

If you post a score that won't open I'll check to see if it will open here.
