SVG Output is highlighted if a just moved text item has focus

• Mar 27, 2025 - 18:23

To reproduce, drag a text item to a new position. Observe the highlight. Export to SVG. The bar is strangely coloured in the output.

I'm using a very short page length. This has happened frequently on many different files. It looks as if the new highlighting is not being ignored by the image processor. It may happen on all exports - not just svg.

Workaround: just make sure you change focus to the page before exporting.

Steps - it's harder to reproduce than I thought
open sample xml file
apply style file -- this step is not necessary -- I duplicated the problem without the style file
highlight any piece of text
move it with the arrows so that you get the little red lines
export to svg
Observe that highlighting appears below moved text and in the generated svg file.
Possibly it is an anomaly in my generated music XML files

I believe that those blue time anchors should disappear when the Shift key is released, or in the case of the mouse, the left mouse button is released. If this does not happen for you, it is indeed a problem, but I cannot reproduce it.
I have been able to reproduce the problem when the Musescore window loses focus while the time anchors are appearing, for example when switching to another open window with ALT + TAB.
In this case, the time anchors do not disappear immediately.
Do you ever have the Musescore window spontaneously lose focus?

I can see that it would make sense that the anchors are transient. I frequently change windows when they are still appearing. I can see you have reproduced the problem. I don't see them disappear until I change the focus with a click in Musescore.

I do not have the Musescore window lose focus spontaneously.
