cant remove rests
I have a strange situation where additional rests are in a bar as seen in the image below. this score was generated from a MIDI file. I cannot simply remove the additional rests, when I use command delete it shortens the length of the bar and all other bars in the system. How would I remove the additional rests? Thanks!

Rests in Voices 2,3,4 can be deleted with the Del. key alone. Rests in Voice1 (such as the quarter rest highlighted in your image) cannot.
If you press Ctrl/Cmd + Del, it's a different matter: you delete the rest AND the beat... which obviously shortens your measure.
What you can try to do is exchange the voices: menu Tools / Voices / Exchange Voice1-2. You can then delete this quarter rest (which will be in Voice2). And exchange voices again in reverse order.
But I'm not sure (I'm afraid so...) this completely solves the problem. Instead of an image, preferably attach an .mscz file (a few measures may suffice, via the menu File / Save selection).
