Position properties palette

• May 28, 2025 - 12:02

I like to have the properties palette on the right-hand side of the window. However, after reopening the programme, it is on the left again (next to Layout etc.)

OS: Linux Mint 22.1, Arch: x86_64, MuseScore Studio version (64-bit): 4.5.2-251141401, revision: ac9d3bc

What is the problem?

Grab (or click the "..." and click "Undock") and move the Properties panel (the top of the panel) with the mouse to the right-hand side, and release when a blue slide appears.

Could be that MuseScore does not have permission to write its workspace file. For example, on Windows I have these folders inside "C:\Users\krasko\AppData\Local\MuseScore\MuseScore4":

workspace.png

Inside the "workspaces" folder there is one ".mws" file per workspace, e.g. Default.mws for the "default" workspace. Make sure the workspace file for the currently active workspace (in MuseScore) is modified each time you close MuseScore. I am not a Linux user and don't know where these folders are located. @cadiz1, can you help locate them?
