entering score using input by duration
Is it possible to prevent the cursor from jumping to the next input position (i.e. to the right) when entering notes using input by duration? I am entering stuff that has a lot of chords, most have four notes, and I would like to be able to enter notes in a chord by using only the up and down arrow keys. Currently I have to hit the back arrow key first (when I remember...) before entering the next note in the chord. Is there a setting for this? I haven't been able to find anything to do it.
Many thanks.

Enter the second and further notes while holding down shift key. Begin with the lowest pitch.
Read the Handbook section about Entering chords:

Okay, a bit confused by the forum. I entered a reply to the previous comment but it seems to have disappeared.
Yesterday I tried using the shift key to add notes, but I couldn't get it to work in duration input mode. Works perfectly in note input mode. Tried it again this morning and it worked. Kept playing with it and it stopped working, kept going and it worked again. It seems I'm doing something that stops it working. Not sure what... If I figure it out I'll let you know.
Thanks for the help.
