Where did my stems go?

I'm using Musescore 2.3,2 (very old computer) . . . I deleted stems from some of the measures, but now they've disappeared from ALL OF THE NOTES and I can't get them back. I've selected the measure or staff , measure properties and staff properties, "stemless" is unchecked, I click apply, but nothing happens. I select it and deselect it, click apply, still nothing.... I need stems back, but not everywhere ! Help appreciated. iamaveg@gmail.com
