Editing Title bar
When I click into the title bar to add some more text I can put any alpha in except "m". This changes the "1 2 3 4" colouring from blue on "1" to brown on "4". I have looked for an "edit title" option but not sure. Besides the fact I can invoke editing by DClicking in the title means it should possible!

I'm not quite following. The way to edit text is to double click it then type. You aren't supposed to be able to edit text without double clicking. And once you double click the title (or any other text) you should be able to type anything you want - including the letter "m". Can you describe more precisely what you are doing? Also say what OS and what version of MuseScore.

Sorry, my first "click" should have been "Dclick" (stands for double click). I have a title "My Music" and I want to edit it to "My Music (F major)". In edit mode in the title I try to type the "m" and all that happens is as I described in th OP. Latest version of 2.0 on windows 7 Pro.

what does 'latest Version of 2.0' mean? 2.0 Beta 1 Or the latest nightly build? If the latter, which one?
Anyway, Id doesn't heppen to me, MuseScore 2.0 Beta 1, 1efc609, Windows 7 (Enterprise, 64bit),
double click on the title string and I can enter anything I like

I have the same as you and I have just retried it to make sure. It behaves as I reported so if yours is OK then I can only assume there is a config arrangement causing it. From a software point of view I assume the program is parsing the keyboard instead of passing it through to the editing routines.

You're absolutely right! I set it as one to create two notes together which were different type. I did not think (and don't think it should) interact with editing (the "n" doesn't) as surely that could happen in other context! Thanks.
Whether the designers think this an issue that's as maybe.

Ooops, posts crossed. Glad that's sorted! At least partially, anyhow.
There is a table where the comamnds are defined that specifies which "modes" each command is active in. Some commands are defined to be active in note entry mode only, others in note entry or text mode, some in "normal" mode only, some in text edit mode only, some in chord symbol mode only, etc. The voice commands are currently defined to be active in normal and note entry modes. They shouldn't be active during text entry. And when I tried it ("M" is already taken for multimeasure rest, so I used "L"), the voice shortcut is *not* not active in text entry. Meaning that even though I have defined "L" to be a shortcut to swtich to voice 4, it still types an "L" in text edit mode.
So I'm not quite sure why you are finding "M" is switching voices for you. Unless you are actually saying you had defined it to do something else.

Yes, soiunds sort of like you have somehow set up "m" to be the shortcut for "voice 4". If you did this on purpose, go back and change it again. If not, maybe run "mscore -F" to revert to factory settings.
