UI Background
Is there some reason for the background in the score area?
When I zoom in and then zoom out I end up with a partially obscured score (unless I zoom out more) and a part of the area that could be score is filled with the background. See attached.
Unless there's is a purpose, I suggest that once one is zooming out, once the top left corner of the score is reached it should be automatically anchored to the corner it is in.
regards.

I think a little bit of background is useful for providing context (see Microsoft Word or similar page-based program for comparison).

I'm not sure I understand. When I open Word it fills the whole area, I see no dark grey background. The user area fills the whole screen except for tool access.

I guess I usually have Word in "Print Layout View" (which show the background) and forgot that there is a "Normal View" (where everything is white and and the background doesn't indicate the edge of the page).

In the attached, I would much rater have as much of the length of the score shown rather than the large useless area on the left.

I agree that lots of background is not necessary.
If you zoom in MuseScore the current mouse cursor position is the center of the zoom. This is very handy if you zoom with the mouse wheel because the mouse position does never change. This would not be possible if the score moves to minimize the score border.

Sorry, I wasn't clear.
My suggestion is that it hug to the left side only when the score is reduced past the point of filling the screen (zoomed out ). When zooming in I would want it to remain the way it is.
Hope that's clear.
Thanks.

I found it. One only has to press "home" to fit the score.
