Keyboard shortcuts not working for note entry

• Mar 14, 2010 - 01:27

In the handbook, it says that I should be able to hit C, D, E... B, etc to enter notes in note entry mode.

However, none of the shortcuts work so I have to enter the notes using mouse. Also while some shortcuts work, others are not working such as 'x' to flip the slur.

I am on 0.9.5 on Windows XP.
Thanks

The shortcuts work for me with 0.9.5 on Windows XP. Maybe you could list step-by-step what you are doing starting with opening MuseScore? Have you changed any of the shortcuts in the Preferences?

I guess I wasn't in Note Entry mode before. I thought I did.

So entering notes using C, D, E, etc... works.

However, flipping the slur by pressing X still does not work. I can't even figure out how to do it without the keyboard shortcut. I guess I can move the individual dots over but the end result isn't as pretty as simply flipping it and moving the whole thing over.

I somehow got it to work one time but I don't know how I did it and can't repeat any more.
* Oh, I did not change any preferences by the way.

If you press A B C D ... it starts note entry mode automatically unless you are in text edit mode, play mode, or pause mode.

You have to leave note entry mode to flip a slur. Instructions are in the handbook. See slur .
