Importing Triplets in MIDI fails

I was trying to import some Bach midi files I have generated in Cakewalk in the past which contain a lot of triplets (Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring in particular). When opening the midi file, it appears to import properly, except that there are no triplets and it plays really wonky (the triplet notes appear to be being imported as 1/8 notes). Seem to be a timing issue.

I have tried the obvious things, like setting the shortest note on import to 1/128 1/64, 1/32, to no avail.

Any suggestions?

The current implementation of the midi input filter does not try to detect triplets or other tuplets. This would be possible to some degree but its hard to implement, some kind of "artificial intelligence" is needed for this.
Midi is not well suited to transfer music to notation as there is a lot of infomation missing and the notation program has to do a lot of guess work to make something sensible out of it.
