toggle for reverse order pitch/duration value note input

I'd like to see a toggle so notes are not entered via midi keyboard until a duration is chosen each time. For instance, I could play an F on the midi keyboard; no note would be entered until I type 5 for quarter note. This is how speedy note works in Finale, which is nice for me while trying different things on the keyboard, but not wanting notes to be entered. I like the way MuseScore has it now, but would like to have a toggle to use the method I've mentioned at other times. Would this be difficult to implement?
