Non-English forum and website translation

• Apr 11, 2015 - 08:01

Hi,
MuseScore 2.0 is so fantastic, I want to spread the word... so I would like to
- create a Hungarian forum - how is that done?
- help with translating the website to Hungarian - how can I do that?

Thanks,
Bertalan

Hi,
Thank you for your interest in translating MuseScore!

I don't know how creating a new forum works.

As for translating the website, it is done through the site itself from the Translate menu on the right, after someone grants you the necessary rights.

The new pages (announcement, news etc.) related to 2.0 need a Hungarian translation indeed. The 1.3 handbook and older pages are outdated now (they were maintained by a former member, then I started revising them but couldn't finish), and the 2.0 handbook isn't ready in English yet; but we already have some 2.0 tutorial video captions in Transifex. I don't have too much time for translating this year, so your help is very welcome.

It would also be nice to finish translating the application itself - there only a few string left (and bagpipe stuff), but the instrument list is still mostly untranslated, because it needs a huge amount of research to do it right.

Hi Bertalan,

Could you post the translation to these strings in a follow up comment:
* General questions and problems
** Before posting a question, it's advised to search first if there is an answer already.
* Documentation & translation
** Discussions related to the handbook of translations of MuseScore

These strings will be used to create the forum containers in your language.
