Bagpipe music
I play the highland bagpipe which is a primitive instrument that can only play legato at a fixed volume. To add some rhythm multiple grace notes are inserted.
The attached .pdf file was written with a DOS based program with Bagpipe Music Writer.
Can MuseScore insert groups of grace notes as is in the example?
Regards
John

MuseScore has a handbook that describes how to use it. See grace note .

David,
Thank you for your reply.
If you look at Coppermill at the end of the second bar there is a G gracenote.
The handbook says: Create a grace note by dragging a grace note symbol from the Grace Notes palette (In versions 0.9.5 and earlier the palette is simply called Notes) to a regular note on the score.
When I try dragging a grace note from the palate nothing happens in either edit or note adding mode
If I double click on the grace note on the palate with the F highlighted I get a F gracenote.
How do I make it a G gracenote
Regards,
John

To change the pitch of a grace note just move it with the mouse or arrow keys.
When you use the drag-and-drop method to add a grace note make sure you drop it directly on the notehead of the regular note.

Thank you for your help. I can enter the leumlahs and taorlueths beautifully.
If you look at Coppermill's beginning there is a partial measure with an Actual time of 0.5 beat but I cannot get the actual time down that low.
Any suggestions?
John

For more detailed instructions see the handbook: Measure operations , "Duration"
Work is being done to directly import bww (Bagpipe Music Writer) files into MuseScore.
See http://musescore.org/en/node/5637. This will not be in the upcoming 0.9.6 release, but in the next release.
