Musescore won't open
I have been using Musescore without problem for more than a year.
I then downloaded Musescore 2 a few months ago and it worked well without problem, then suddenly, a few weeks ago, Musescore 2 would not open.
The small Icons appear at the bottom of the screen and it looks as if it is trying to open then nothing happens.
I have tried to open it several different ways without success.
I have been using both versions Musescore on the same computer since I started.
Hardware details:
MuseScore version: MUSESCORE 2
operating system: WINDOWS 8
hardware ACER ASPIRE E1-572 LAPTOP IMTEL CORE i7-00u
antivirus software: BT NETPROTECT PLUS
Any help would be much appreciated.

Every so often happens, have you tried:

Check the permissions of your antivirus.
Have you tried a nightly?

Thank you to all of you who made helpful suggestions. I tried them all and finally I used the nightly download link which worked within a few minutes of trying it. I can continue with this down load but presumably it will be incorporated into another Musescore release in the future.
