New Continuous View look for 2.0.2?

• Jun 11, 2015 - 19:50

The new look for Continuous View (which I still think would be better named Continuous Layout, but never mind) in the nightlies is decidedly different from the way it looks in 2.0.1. In a discussion from before 2.0 was released, it was basically declared that this would not be implemented for the 2.0 release or for 2.0.1, due to the need to update the documentation with new screenshots and videos, but perhaps for 2.1. Now that 2.0.2 is in the works and the nightly builds include the changed interface, has that decision been rethought, or should the change be reverted for 2.0.2 and only maintained in the 2.1 branch?

I commented about the documentation and I did the changes in 2.0.2. Thanks for pointing to my own contradiction :) I believe we can live with better Continuous Panel in 2.0.2 and documentation being a bit different. For the easiest part, we could update the handbook but I don't see a need to redo the videos just for this.

Okay. I'm just wondering, what would kind of change would actually prompt new videos? As things currently stand, is the "MuseScore in Minutes" series (which has the number "2.0" prominently put forward both on the screen and in George Hess's monologue) expected to be updated or replaced in any way when, say, 2.1 comes out? (I realize that, as the team are not fools, they'll probably change their minds, but I'd still like to know the current take on this.)
