MuseScore dies when I open it...

I just got Version 0.9.6.1 for Mac, but, as soon as I open it, it freezes for a moment and then quits. Is there anything I can do?

Did you install MuseScore as explained in Installation , Mac section ?

If yes,
Is it your first install or you made a upgrade?
If you made an upgrade, try to revert to factory settings

If it's the first time you install MuseScore, it might be a compatibility problem with your soundsystem. Open a terminal and type /Applications/MuseScore.app/Contents/MacOS/mscore -s to run MuseScore without sound.
