Empty Save Score window

• Aug 23, 2010 - 23:31

I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 and just added the mscore-stable PPA to upgrade to 0.9.6.2. After the upgrade, every time I attempt to save, the Save Score window opens, but there is nothing within it. Since there's nothing in the window, I'm unable to save and all my work is lost. Also, if I close the Musescore window without saving the score that's open, Musescore crashes.

Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't work, but I think I have discovered the fix. I modified /usr/bin/mscore to include the line "export QT_NO_GLIB=1" near the beginning and everything seems to work fine. I saw that in other threads, but it didn't look like it worked for anyone else. I guess I'm just lucky. The crash on exit seems to have been fixed also.

My preferences are

Use internal synthetizer

Alsa audio is disabled

Portaudio is enabled
API: ALSA "Périphérique": HDA Intel: ALC888 Analog (hw:0,0)

and there is some oddities.....

for instance when I check the active softwares, I find mscore and mscore.real, but checking the active sound softwares there is none...............however mscore does play!

and using mscore for the first time in the linux ubuntu session, I had to kill
using it again (and checking as described hereupon), it closed.....

any other checking?
