Is there any reason I shouldn't remove 1.3?

• Jul 14, 2015 - 05:06

Will I be apt to lose anything if I do this? The reason I ask is that I will occasionally try to open a score through the file and not directly from MuseScore; the default seems to be 1.3 and it tells me it can't open the file, it's too old or some such. This takes a minute or 2 to go back and do it using MS directly, but is a nuisance. I'm trying to simplify!
Thanks, as always.

It's easy to change the file associations so that clicking a file opens MuseScore 2 rather than 1.3. But the details depending on your specific OS - Windows, Mac, Linux, etc. If you do a Google search on "change file associations Windows 8" (or substitute Mac, etc) you will prpobably find good instructions. If you are still having trouble, post here and say what OS.

I say this because, I personally wouldn't recommend removing 1.3 if you have any 1.3 scores. You never know when some particular 1,.3 score will look different enough loaded into 2.0 and you don't have time to mess with it but you need to print it or whatever.
