MuseScore 2 remove base clef measures and change instrument description after transposition.
I have transposed a melody from piano to baritone saxophone. I need to remove the base clef measures and change the instrument description after transposition. I have searched online as well as used the book "Mastering MuseScore" by Marc Sabatella, but have had no luck trying to find out how to make these changes. I am using MuseScore version 2.0.1.

And upgrade to 2.0.2 (although this is unrelated to your question here)
I can only guess as I cannot see your score but I think you have tried to change a piano into a saxophone by changing the instrument. An easier way is to create a new instrument - saxophone - and copy the whole piano melody and paste it into the saxophone staff and then just delete the piano - BUT make sure to save the file under a different name first otherwise you will lose your piano score.
Many thanks to both of you for your quick replies. I used a combination of both methods suggested. I added a baritone saxophone (which is an E flat instrument), but the weird thing was that the melody was transposed from the key of "C" into the key of F#, which is the key I use for tenor saxophone (which is a B flat instrument).
If your piano is in C your Bb instruments should be in D and your Eb instruments in A.

That would be my conclusion as well. That is also what is stated here .
I am posting my piano (key of C version) of the song, as well as the tenor version that my saxophone teacher has accepted as "correct". He notes that the A and B parts of the song are repeated, the second A part shifts to the key of "G" when repeated for the second time.
The actual song can be found on Spotify by searching Lisa Ono and her album Asia, for anyone that has a good ear.

I think part of the problem is that the original musical score may not be in the same key as the album/Spotify version. That still does not explain the weird transposition in MuseScore.

In order to help us understand what "weird transposition" you mean, can you post the score as it was before you did whatever it is you did that caused the weird transposition, then describe precisely, step by step, exactly what you did, you you expected to see happen, and what happened instead?
In general, changing a piece from one instrument to another should be as simple as goign to Staff Properties, clicking Change Instruments, and selecting the new instrument. The transposition should handled correctly and automatically, and this works fine for me.

The file has been posted. It is Bengawan_Solo_piano. I created a new instrument - a baritone saxophone. I then copied the whole piano melody and pasted it into the saxophone staff and then deleted the piano as instrument from the inspector. The melody was automagically transposed when I copied the melody into the new baritone saxophone part.

Well, yes, it is supposed to be transposed - into the correct key. Your score is in C. When I added the baritone saxophone staff, it was added with a key signature of A major, exactly as it shoudl be. And when I copied the notes of the piano part into the baritone saxophone part, they were transposed exactly as they should be - up an octaveplus a major sixth, so the first note was transposed from G on the second-to-bottom line to E two lines above the staff. If you try following exactly those steps, I believe you will see exactly the same result. It's possible you inadvertently did something different from that.
If yuou find a *precise* seriers of steps that you can follow right and reliubaly get something other than the correct result, do post that. But for now, i think you need to just assume you accidentally did something wrong.
