Drumset 5 lines and midi in

I have vmpk (virtual midi piano keybaord) set up to output to the midi input of musescore. However when I have vmpk set up to general midi drumset muse score doesn't do anything with any input it may be getting. Is this muse score's fault or could it be one of the many other programs I am using for this? (I have rock band drum sets converted to keyboard with joytokey which virtual midi piano keyboard gets and transforms into midi signals which loopbe1 transfers to musescore. It may be anyone of them)
