add feature to cause playback to skip all but last volta
When using Musescore for rehearsal sometimes I'd like to play the full score (and play along with a live instrument), and sometimes I'd like to skip the 1st ending/volta and go immediately to the 2nd ending.
The currently available feature to ignore repeats is not what I want, because this causes playback to play the 1st ending followed immediately by the 2nd ending.

I like the suggestion made by ericfontainejazz, that the "play repeats" binary option should be extended to a 3-way toggle.
1. play music as written, treating repeats and repeats and respecting volta
2. play each measure in succession, ignoring repeats, thus concatenating volta
3. skip all but last volta.
For case 3, if a 1st/2nd ending is encountered, this 1st ending would be skipped, jumping immediately to 2nd ending, analogously in the case of 1st/2nd/3rd ending etc.

I'm just trying to brainstorm here. I do think a play final voltas only option is useful. I'm trying to think of best way to incorporate with current UI.
It seems all the "buttons" are binary (on/off). So although I personally would like a 3-way button, I'm afraid I can't figure out a way to have a 3-way button and be consistent with rest of UI there. Also, I'm having trouble cooking up an icon for "Final voltas only" and cooking up an icon for "Ignore all repeats" (other than maybe have an X or circle-slash over the repeat sign or have the repeat sign greyed out...but again that doesn't seem to be consistent). Any ideas are welcome.
It seems maybe instead of 3-way button, one way to be consistent with UI would be to use a drop down menu with three options:

That would fit with how Page View is a dropdown menu with two options and how the zoom level is a dropdown menu. But it would be nice to have a simple universally-understood icon for each.

Another way to go about it, considering that the use case might just be for rehearsing, would be to have the repeat mode option be inside Play Panel window (which opens via F11). Then wouldn't need to complicate the mscore toolbar.

haha. I don't trust myself with GUI design either. Hopefully someone here on the forums will suggest a good idea.

I think you have—that three-item dropdown menu is as good as it gets.
