Play Panel - Is not displayed when selected.
I could (before) select Play Panel by clicking on the selection box and it would be displayed. I've done something that now prohibits it from being displayed,

Could be you moved it off the screen? Look carefully at your screne borders to see if there is an edge still visible that you could drag onscreen. Depending on your OS, there may be keybaord shortcuts also to move the active window.
If all else fails, following the instructions in the Handbook under "Revert to factory settings" shoud restore it to normal.
