Musescore 2.0.1 playback laggy & distorted

• Sep 7, 2015 - 04:08

Playback works fine for the first few bars, but soon the MIDI playback becomes completely distorted and lags.

The only information I can find on here about a fix for this is to change the reverb settings in the synthesizer, but there's not even a reverb option in the damn window. Changing/turning off reverb via the mixer window has no effect either.

I could understand if I were writing something using large instrumentation with a lot of audio effects, but I'm just trying to quickly throw together a really simple, dorky anime tune for flute and piano. I can't even get six bars into it without playback glitching out. It's unbelievably frustrating.

Thanks in advance!

The reverb is on the "Master Effects" tab. But that advice was for 1.3; that bug has been fixed. Could be you simply don't have a powerful enough CPU or enough RAM or have too many other processes competing for resources.

Your score plays back just fine for me on an extremely low powered computer (a Chromebook running Linux). But I note it has a pedal that starts and never stops. This probably is taxing your system.
