How do I put a barline interior to a measre

• Sep 14, 2015 - 10:03

I am copying the treble clef containing the
melody of an old famous waltz song.
Is it possible in MuseScore 1.3 to
put the double barline interior to a measure
to separate the score into two parts?
There is a change in key signature also.
The original does it like that.

Consider upgrading to MuseScore 2.0.2...

I don't quite understend your Intention, you can place balines inside measures, in all versions of MuseScore, but that won't separate score into 2 parts. Niether would this allow for a key change at that spot.

In 2.0 you can use a section break for that. Also in 2.0 you have the option to split a measure at a given chord/rest

You can do all that in 1.x too, but with more manual interventions, via measure properties, adding aa measure, changing the measure number offset, setting whether or nor you want a courtesy key sig.

If you just need a barline for the sake of appearance, then simply add the barline to the note before which you wish it appear - either click the note then double click the palette icon, or drag the icon to the note.

However, if you need it to truly behave like a separate measure - to allow for a key change - then you need to actual split the measure at that point. So select the note and go to Edit / Measure / Split Measure.
