.mscz file won't open

• Nov 9, 2010 - 18:49

I am using Musescore version 0.9.6.3. revision 3507 on a Windows 7 laptop with 3gb RAM. I had been working on a file for a few days, saving it, and opening it again to work on it. No problems until a couple of days ago, when I tried to open the file and it didn't open. I am getting no error messages, and the program doesn't close....it just refuses to open the file. After I select the file to open, it just does nothing.

I read through some posts by other people who have had similar problems, but didn't see anything that would help. I did try opening Musescore with -s and -m parameters to disable midi and the internal systhesizer in case CPU load was the issue, but it didn't make a difference.

I've attached the file. The file size is a little suspicious too, only 3K but I am new to this - this is my first try - and I haven't paid attention to the file size. Still, it should be a larger file, I think.

Thanks for your help.

See if you can find the back up of the previously saved version. It should be called ".Mediaval Noel.mscz," with period in front and a comma at the end. It should be in the same directory as your normal file. Go ahead and attach the backup file to a comment below.
