possible to change singing voice?

Is it possible to change the sound of the singing voices? I don't mean adding or changing a 'voice', as in a line of melody, but rather, changing the *sound* of the singing voice, for example, to sound less operatic and more 'folky'.

I've searched the docs for 'voices' but the only references I can find are related to 'voice 1', 'voice 2', etc., which is not what I'm looking for.

Thanks!

See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/soundfont-0 for a list of SoundFonts and how to add them. You'll need a complete SoundFont that has all the MIDI instruments. MuseScore comes with Fluid R3 so pick a different one.

Instead of changing SoundFont, another option is simply to set the singers to use a different instrument in the mixer. E.g. piccolo for sopranos, clarinet for altos, trumpet for tenors and tuba/trombone for basses. You'll probably find the instruments sound much better than any fake voice sounds, especially for soloists. The fake voices are only really acceptable for the chorus, hence the name "choral oohs".
