Programme won't print a Landscape score.

• Oct 19, 2015 - 20:55

I set the print settings to landscape, save a landscape profile and everything looks okay.
Even the preview is in landscape format.
But when I press PRINT to send the print file to the printer, it has reverted to Portrait.
Fortunately my Epson printer came with a program that gives me a preview of what has been sent to the printer before printing it, so I can cancel the faulty file and not keep wasting paper on duff print.
I started looking through the forum but with some 300 plus pages to scan through, I gave up after about twenty pages having only found 2 entries, totally irrelevant to my problem.
Any help would be gratefully accepted since many of my scores are in Landscape format.
Best regards

The more details you give, the more likely you are to get a satisfactory reponse and the more likely the problem is to get fixed:

What version MS
What OS
What printer model
And, please attach the score that you are having problems with.

Meanwhile, try printing to PDF file and then open the file and see if it looks OK. If it prints OK then you're good (but there may still be a problem that the MuseScore developers need to iron out) and if it doesn't print from the PDF fkile then you may have a problem with your printer or the printer driver rather than with MuseScore.

Depending on your particular OS and particular printer, you might have to set the printer option to landscape as well as setting it within MuseScore.

Yeah, I am running 2.0.2 on XP with a Canon Laser Printer MF3200.

I am trying to set up some music for a person who is sight-impaired and so I would like to print it LANDSCAPE. I change the Layout to Letter, Landscape and format my pieces (one page) - it looks fine.

When I print this it prints in portrait and, of course, truncates the right hand side.

I then print it again, realising my error, I select Preferences on the printer and change it ALSO to Landscape. THE RESULT IS IDENTICAL but printed sideways!! In other words truncated right, just as it was if I printed it Portrait!

PERSISTENCE PAYS OFF!

Having coffee and decided to waste a few more pages of paper:-

Changed to Landscape, as before, but also changed "Page Size" and "Output Size" from Default to "Letter" in the "Preferences" Tab of the Printer.

So it looks like a Printer Driver issue BUT I have had this printer for about 3 years and have never had this problem before - so something's going on!
