how to properly raise pitch 1/2 fret higher
Musescore v0.9.6.3
I created a musical compostion for verse one and two. On verse three, I want to raise the pitch 1/2 fret higher. When I clicked on the button to do this, the new notes show both former note and new notes one on top of each other. How do I only display the new notes that are 1/2 fret higher?

What button are you clicking on? Do you mean that you want to transpose the piece to a key one semi-tone higher? If so, select the measures you want to change and go to Notes > Transpose.

I am using Japanese version of MuseScore so difficult to tell you the name of the menu. But my steps are:
On MusicScore, click on Notes, choose 4th menu choice from top (raising pitch), then I select "raise 3 pitch".
Was above correct procedure.
The pitch of notes are raised but below the newly raised pitch, the former pitch remains and are displayed. How can I delete the former pitch?

Maybe the menu item is mistranslated in Japanese. In English the fourth menu item is called "Add Pitch" not "Raise Pitch". Maybe you can suggest a better translation for that menu item at: //translate.musescore.org/translate/languages/ja/edit?search=add%20interval
If you want to raise a pitch you can use the Up or Down arrow keys on the keyboard. If you want to delete a pitch you can press Delete.

Sorry, you are correct. The fourth item is "Add Pitch" and not "Raise Pitch". But is this the right menu item to pick in order to raise the pitch?
Wonder why inital notes are also displayed (per my previous screen-capture).

This menu item is intended to "Add" notes to the existing chord. It is not for raising the pitch of an existing note. I was asking if the translation of this menu item is not clear in Japanese?

From the picture it looks like there are 2 different sets of notes/voices. Did you perhaps copy twice to the same place?

No. My steps:
First I copied the notes where it requires pitch change because creating them manually takes too much time for me.
Then I selected those pitches and clicked on Add pitch and chose 3 degrees higher. Then my new pitch plus the initial pitches are displayed.
I don't want the original pitch to be displayed. Any solution?

If you want to raise the pitch instead of add to the the existing pitches then I suggest using the arrow keys as I mentioned above .

Now I understand why double notes appeared. I had chosen "add to".
