Audio output

Hi all,

When I save a score to an audio format (wav/ogg), the sound volume seems to be automatically set. It is always very loud (clipping even).

Now I am able to change these settings for playback in Musescore, but not for scores to audio files.

Any idea how to change these settings? I'm running Musescore 0.9.6.3 on Windows 7.

Thanks,

Tom

Does your piece have dynamics in it? The audio file will try to follow the dynamics of the written music. You can change the volume in MuseScore through the Play Panel, but the audio file created will not follow that setting - that only works for playback inside of MuseScore.

It does not have dynamics in it, because it is a large set of generated MusicXML data which I need to convert to wave files.

Isn't there any way of changing the export volume?

Thanks!

MuseScore renders audio in two passes. In the first pass it determines the max. audio level. The export audio volume is then set to output the loudest sample at 0db. This gives the loudest possible output.
