Another simple ( maybe ) question.
I am learning shifting on the violin. My instructor uses roman numerals to denote the shift, and places them beneath the score and under the note to be shifted. I have found the "fingering" and "string" palette, but nothing that seems to help. Any ideas?

PS: In the Symbols palette, can any of the PhD's in music tell me what the six symbols are and mean? Thanks

You can use Staff Text to add roman numerals or any other text to your staff. Select a note you want to add text to, then choose Create > Text > Staff Text.
In symbols palette the six symbols are all related to accordion.
