playing a score to a midi instrument
Hi,
Normally the score can be played back with the synthesizer (soundfonts).
Can musescore also control and let play the score on a midi-instrument (e.g. 3 midichannels)
by sending midicodes to that midi instrument?

It can if you have installed and configured "Jack" (a separate program that is also free & open source) to send MIDI output to that instrument

I think things have now moved on? A standard midi-USB with interface cable (£11-ish from Amazon) enables me to record (using any of the note input options) and play back with no instrument settings needed, provided you adopt the channel configuration preset by the midi player when composing.
