No sound upon playback - missing something obvious?

• Jan 5, 2016 - 23:27

I have tried recommendations from similar posts, but still have no playback sound. (Apologies if I have missed a solution already covered elsewhere in this forum.)

Running Musescore 2.0.2 on a Mac with OS X El Capitan ver 10.11.2
Mac volume is at max.

I have tried factory resets and tried deleting and reinstalling Musescore.

Musescore Preferences General tab Folders for SoundFonts shows: /Applications/MuseScore 2.app/Contents/Resources/sound;/Users/kquass/Documents/MuseScore2/Soundfonts

In /Applications/MuseScore 2.app/Contents/Resources/sound folder I find:
FluidR3Mono_GM.sf3
FluidR3Mono_License.md

Musescore Preferences I/O tab shows PortAudio selected; API: Core Audio; Device: Built-in Output

When I execute the reset in a terminal window I see:
/Applications/MuseScore\ 2.app/Contents/MacOS/c
initScoreFonts 0x7fe2d2ec19f0

Yes, when I Viewed | Synthesizer, there was a tab Fluid, which listed one item FluidR3Mono_GM.sf3.
It was also an option under Add, so I deleted the original instance, and re-Added it. I could then hear playback, faintly, and was then able to change the Vol slider there to get an acceptable volume.
Thanks Marc!
