Insert measure numbers at beginning of phrases?
I would like to insert measure numbers at the beginning of phrases in a teaching piece. The phrases in this brief piece begin in mm. 1, 5 and 9. If I add measure numbers at interval "5," I get a measure number at m. 5 and m. 10 (instead of m. 9). Is there a way to get measure numbers exactly where you want them?

I would suggest to use the Rehearsal Marks for this. They don't have to be letters, they can be measure nummers as well.

You can set the measure numebrs to not show at all in the Style / General dialog, then turn them on for individual measures in Measure Properties (right click menu).
