I would like to put fewer measures on a line for my beginning students. How do I do that? I have Musescore2.

Edit / Tools> Add/Remove Line Breaks.

Or just add the line breaks manually from the Breaks & Spacers palette (click a measure, double click line break icon to break the line there). You can also add a break by clicking a barline and hitting Enter.
You might also consider increasing the overall music size in Layout / Page Settings / Staff space, and/or the overall music spacing in Style / General / Measure / Spacing.
