Writing Duets
Hello I am new to writing music with MuseScore and I write a lot of duets and would like to write one for my friend (a trombonist) and I (also a trombonist) but I don't know how to get the staff to look like a duet. If anyone knows how to do this please respond thanks!

When you start a new score, after entering the title etc when you get to the screen where you choose a template, choose the very first icon "Choose Instruments". From the resulting dialog, simply select the desire instruments in the desired order. Complete the wizard (key & time signature, etc) and all should be well.

You can't add two staves to the score if you're writing a guitar duet you can only have one

What? You can have as many staves and instruments as you like

Thanks for your reply regarding guitar duets.lve clicked on solo guitar then clicked on solo guitar again but it won't add a second guitar stave only the one stave.

Regarding my message on two staves for guitar duet.
I've just found how to set it up..
When I was starting new score I chose solo guitar from the basic menu instead of double clicking ( choose instruments).
Now I can add two guitar staves.

To be clear: it looks like you are talking about selecting the "Solo Guitar" template, but the selection of templates happens only when creating a new score. Once you've already created the score, you don't add to it by creating another new score, you do it with Edit / Instruments. Or, when originally creating the score, instead of using the Solo Guitar template, use Choose Instruments, and just add two guitars right form the beginning.
