Multi-measure rest at beginning does not allow text.

I am trying to add text instruction to the beginning of a part containing a multi-measure rest at the beginning. When the MM rest is disabled, the text appears. However, when I engage the MMR, the text disappears.
There is an A and a B section of rests before the part has notes. The B section does show the text properly.
This may be because I am trying to add 2 different text elements, one with the part name (which displays) and a separate element with instructions.
A sort of work around is to put the 2nd instruction on the 2nd bar. However this then has a single bar rest before the MMR.
Any ideas?

It is true only the first staff text displays. Part names are not normally created as staff text - they are created automatically by MuseScore when you generate parts from a score. So I'm not clear on the overall situation here - posting the score would help me understand. You can also add a part name outside the context of a full score using Add / Text / Part Name.

Aha. Thanks. It's not a generated part, it's an independently written part by transposing a lead sheet. I will try the "Add / Text / Part Name".

Fwiw, I usually.usenthe Lyricist field for that, also appears top left of the page. Maybe I should get on the habit of using part name too.
