convert 8th note tripplet into two eighth notes

• Feb 6, 2016 - 21:42

I've looked for an answer & tried, but can't get this one:

I've got an eighth note tripplet (totalling one quarter note in lenght). I want to replace it with 2 eighth notes.

If I delete the tripplet, it seems to give me a measure with duration of 3 quarter notes.

Any advice? Or even converting it to a quarter note rest would work, then I'll do the rest.

Thanks....Lyle

You should delete the triplet, not the notes within the triplet.
Click on the small 3 with your mouse, then hit Delete. MuseScore will replace the triplet with a quarter rest.

Thanks for the reply, jeetee. But that doesn't seem to work.

The triplet at the beginning of any of the first or second endings in this file is my focus.
I highlight the "3", delete, and I'm left with the 3 remaining quarter note duration of the measure, but no quarter note rest at the start of the measure.

This is with MuseScore 2.0.2 on Windows 7.

Thanks again....Lyle
